USEFUL ADVICE

EASYPLOT cutting-film can be applied onto nearly every dry, clean, firm, smooth and weather-proof surface. For a durable and good adhesion, proper treatment and thorough cleaning of the surfaces are prerequisite. Grease, oil or greasy dirt must be removed with toluene, xylene, paint-thinner (no nitro-thinner as it contains oils!), cyclohexanone, spirit, heptane or silicone remover. Before using these solvents make sure the surface is resistant to them.
When cleaning take care to wipe the solvents thoroughly off with a dry cloth, to make sure no grease or dirt remains spread out over the surface. Surfaces made of synthetic materials are often coated with agents for separation (e.g. silicone), which have to be removed with the appropriate removers. Old painted surfaces must be cleaned with spirit, heptane or silicone remover only, as all other solvents may damage the painted surface. It is always recommended to test first on a non-visible area. The above mentioned solvents are available from chemical or lab suppliers.
