Processing of rigid foam panels and wings
Lately more and more model airplanes with wings having a styrene foam core have come into the market. To reduce production costs, in many of those models pre-dried foam is no longer used, but foam containing a relatively high residual dampness. To make sure this dampness stays inside the styrene foam we recommend to seal it off by a barrier: Before covering, apply two coats of filler and sand each coat.
Additional advantage: The surface will be less pressure sensitive.
